Wanted menceritakan tentang sebuah kelompok pembunuh yang pada awalnya melaksanakan tugas pembunuhan berdasarkan petunjuk yang berisikan nama - nama target yang muncul pada kain hasil tenunan. Sampai pada suatau masa muncullah nama sang pemimpin organisasi tersebut yang menjadi target untuk dibunuh. Namun yang terjadi sang pemimpin (Sloan) justru mengingkari fakta dan mulai melakukan pembunuhan hanya untuk keuntungan pribadi.
Cross yang mengetahui hal ini memutuskan untuk keluar dari organisasi tersebut. Hal ini menjadikan Cross dianggap sebagai penghianat. Hingga direkrutlah seorang pemuda bernama Wesley Gibson yang mempunyai bakat luar biasa untuk dilatih agar bisa membunuh Cross yang tak lain adalah ayahnya. Wesley sendiri dipilih karena Sloan yakin bahwa Cross tak mungkin tega membunuh anaknya. Namun pada akhirnya Cross berhasil dibunuh oleh Wesley. Dan pada saat itu Wesley mendapat fakta mengejutkan bahwa Cross adalah ayah kandungnya, dan Sloan selama ini memutar balikkan fakta. Ceritapun dimulai dengan misi balas dendam untuk membunuh Sloan.
Para nontoners pasti udah pada paham gimana hebatnya seorang Rambo dalam film - filmnya, tapi film Wanted jelas membalikkan pendapat tersebut karena ternyata sosok Wesley Gibson dalam film ini jauh lebih hebat dibanding Rambo ahahha.
